Build Your First Roller Coaster Track

Setting Up Anchor Points

Start by placing anchor points on the ground where you want your track to begin and end. These points define the path your coaster will follow. Space them out to create the general shape—a simple hill, a curve, or a straight section.

Connecting with the Wrench Tool

Equip the wrench tool and click between anchor points to create track segments. The track will automatically smooth between points, creating natural curves without the blocky grid limitations of vanilla rails. Adjust anchor positions by clicking and dragging them to refine your layout.

Adding Height and Direction

Place anchor points at different heights to create climbs and drops. The physics engine will handle gravity automatically—higher sections mean faster descents. You can also rotate anchor points to bank turns or create inversions.

Testing Your Layout

Once your basic track is complete, place a cart on it and give it a push to see how it flows. Watch for rough spots or unnatural angles, then smooth them out by repositioning anchor points. Use the layout tools to auto-bank turns for a more realistic ride feel.
