Treat Bleeding and Fractures Before They Kill You

Identify Active Injuries

Press O to open your Character screen and check which limbs show bleeding or fracture status effects. Light bleeding drains health slowly, while heavy bleeding is life-threatening. Bone fractures reduce your mobility and worsen over time if untreated.

Stop Bleeding Immediately

Bleeding requires bandages or medical items to stop the blood loss. Apply these to the affected limb as soon as possible—heavy bleeding can kill you faster than you can eat food. Your screen will blur and tint red as you lose blood, making it harder to fight or navigate.

Heal Fractures with Surgery

Craft an Emergency Surgery Kit and approach the limb with the fracture. Hold right-click on that body part for the full duration (around 15 seconds) without moving. Do not interrupt the process or you'll have to start over. Once complete, the fracture status effect clears and the limb regains function.

Prevent Future Injuries

Wear armor that covers vulnerable areas. Armor now protects only the specific body parts it covers, so ensure your head, torso, and legs all have protection. Avoid taking damage to the same limb repeatedly, as cumulative damage leads to fractures.
