Measure Building Dimensions for Construction Planning

Planning Your Build

Use the tape measure to verify the exact size of structures before you build, or to measure existing areas you want to fill or modify.

1. Identify the corner or edge of the area you want to measure

2. Right-click on the starting corner block

3. Right-click on the opposite corner block (diagonal or along an edge)

4. Note the displayed dimensions

Using Measurements for Building

Keep the measurements visible on screen while you build by leaving them displayed. This helps you maintain consistent dimensions as you place blocks. You can take multiple measurements of different sections—measure the length of one wall, then the height, then a room's interior space. All measurements stay visible for reference.

Clearing When Done

Once your structure matches your planned dimensions, press Shift + right-click to clear the measurements and get an unobstructed view of your finished work.
