Troubleshoot Flat or Missing Textures
Check Resource Pack Loading
If blocks appear flat or textures seem missing, verify the resource pack is active. Open your resource pack menu and confirm Max Realism is enabled and positioned above any conflicting packs in the load order.
Verify Shader Compatibility
Many features depend on shader support. If surfaces look flat despite the pack being active:
- Confirm you have a shader pack installed that supports labPBR or POM
- Check the shader's documentation for material support
- Try switching shaders to test compatibility
Graphics Settings
Ensure your video settings aren't overriding texture detail:
- Set texture filtering to at least bilinear or trilinear
- Confirm mipmap levels are enabled
- Check that resource pack resolution isn't being downscaled by your client
Lighting and Angles
Realistic textures show depth best under varied lighting. If surfaces appear flat, try:
- Moving to brighter areas with multiple light sources
- Viewing blocks from different angles
- Adjusting time of day to change light direction
If issues persist, disable other resource packs and test with Max Realism alone.
