Spears are your earliest ranged weapon option, available before you can produce metal projectiles. Craft them at your primitive crafting table using sharpened stone or bone points and wooden shafts. They're quick to make and don't require metalworking.

Using Spears in Combat

Throw spears by holding them in your hand and using your attack key. They travel in an arc and can be recovered after hitting their target or the ground. Spears deal solid damage to both mobs and players, making them ideal for hunting animals at range without wasting precious metal resources.

Hunting Strategy

Spears excel at taking down passive animals like deer, boar, and sheep from a distance. Craft multiple spears before a hunt since you'll occasionally lose them in water or difficult terrain.
