How to Divorce Your Spouse in MarriagePlus (Even While They're Offline)
Starting a Divorce
MarriagePlus lets you end a marriage without needing your partner to be online. This is useful when a spouse has stopped playing or you simply want to move on.
Open the command list with /Marry to find the divorce subcommand for your server. Run it and target your current spouse (or confirm the prompt if the plugin auto-detects your partner). The plugin will process the divorce immediately — your spouse does not need to accept or even be connected.
What Happens After Divorce
Once divorced:
- The spouse link between both players is removed.
- Spouse-only commands (like kissing) no longer work between you two.
- You are free to propose to someone else, subject to the server's cooldown and spouse-limit rules.
If you're unsure whether the divorce went through, run /Marry again — your command menu or status output will reflect whether you currently have a spouse. If the server tracks marriage history, that record stays with the plugin's data even though the active marriage is gone.
Note that divorce is one-sided: your partner does not get a veto. Use it carefully on roleplay-focused servers where breakups may have in-game consequences.
