Set Up a New Villager Profession
Finding and Converting Villagers
Start by locating an unemployed villager in your world. These villagers have no workstation nearby and won't have a green robe indicating a profession.
Crafting and Placing the Workstation
Decide which profession you want to introduce. Each profession requires a custom workstation block—for example, the Lumberjack needs a specific workstation, the Gardener needs another. Check your crafting menu for the workstation recipe; most use wood planks as a base ingredient combined with profession-specific materials.
Craft the appropriate workstation block. Place it within a few blocks of your unemployed villager. The villager will detect the workstation and claim it, adopting the new profession. You'll see their appearance change to reflect their job.
Starting Trades
Once claimed, the villager becomes a Novice trader. Interact with them to see their initial trades. These early offers are limited but affordable. Complete trades to earn experience and level them up through Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and finally Master ranks. Master-level traders unlock the rarest and most valuable trades, including hard-to-find items like tridents, dragon's breath, and sniffer eggs.
