How to Apply a Magic Particle to Yourself or a Player

Using the Set Command

The core command for applying an effect is /mp set [id]. The [id] must match the identifier defined in one of the server's particle JSON files. Before setting anything, run /mp on its own to list every particle currently loaded on the server — this confirms the exact IDs you can use.

Steps

1. Type /mp and read the list of available particle IDs.

2. Choose one and run /mp set <id>, replacing <id> with the exact name from the list.

3. The effect now follows you. Depending on how the JSON is configured, it may trail behind you as you walk, orbit your character, or appear at intervals.

4. To stop the effect, run /mp disable. This removes your currently active particle without affecting other players.

5. To switch effects, simply run /mp set <other_id> again — you do not need to disable first.

Notes on Permissions

Because this is a server-side cosmetics mod, the ability to set particles may be limited by permission level. If /mp set returns an error, ask a server operator to grant you access or to apply the effect for you. Particles are visible to all players nearby since rendering happens server-side, so coordinate with your admin if you want an effect only during specific events.
