Fixing the Low Shield Pack Not Working or Showing a Large Shield

If your shield still blocks half the screen after installing the Low Shield Resource Pack, the cause is almost always pack order or a conflicting pack, not the pack itself.

Check Pack Order First

Open Options → Resource Packs. In the Selected column, packs higher up take priority over packs below them. If any pack above Low Shield also edits shield models or textures (many PvP packs, "small utilities" packs, or full texture overhauls do), it overrides the low shield model. Drag Low Shield to the very top of the Selected list and click Done.

Other Common Causes

• The pack isn't actually selected. A pack sitting in the left column is only available, not active. Click the arrow to move it right.
• You're looking at a different shield. Modded shields from other mods may use their own models that this pack doesn't touch. Test with a vanilla shield first.
• Stale resource reload. If nothing changes, press F3 + T to reload resources, or leave and re-enter the world.
• Server resource packs. On a server that forces its own resource pack, your local pack may be overridden. Check whether the server pack is set to required.

Once the pack is on top and no conflicting pack outranks it, the shield model shrinks the next time you raise it.
