Removing Vanilla Drops from a Loot Table Using LootTweaker
Why Removal Is Trickier Than Addition
LootTweaker lets you strip entries, but you must match the entry exactly as the game registered it. A zombie's rotten flesh, for example, is stored with its own weight and count range. If your removal call does not match, the entry stays.
Using removeEntry
Open your script and target the table first:
`zenscript
import mods.loottweaker.LootTweaker;
val table = LootTweaker.getTable("minecraft:entities/zombie");
table.removeEntry(<minecraft:rotten_flesh>);
`
If the item is wrapped in a pool with conditions, you may need to clear the whole pool instead. LootTweaker exposes pool access, so you can iterate pools and remove the one containing your item. This is safer when the same item appears in multiple pools with different conditions.
Verifying the Change
After /reload, kill the mob several times. If rotten flesh still drops, another pool or a modded table is supplying it. Check whether another datapack or mod overrides the same table — load order matters, and the last writer wins. You can also dump the table contents to the log to see what remains after your script runs.
