How to Fix the Loot Journal Not Showing Pickups
If the journal opens but stays empty or stops updating, work through these checks before assuming the mod is broken.
Confirm the Basics
Make sure the journal is actually toggled on, not just bound to a key. Pick up a fresh item by walking over a drop or breaking a block, since the log only reacts to items entering your inventory. If you are in creative and grabbing items from the creative menu, those may not register as pickups.
Check for Conflicts
Another HUD or inventory mod can overlap the journal or intercept the same keybind. Rebind the journal to an unused key and move its overlay away from other panels. If the journal vanished entirely, another mod may be drawing over it.
When Counts Look Wrong
- Items moved into chests or shulker boxes leave your inventory and reduce counts.
- Items consumed, dropped, or used in crafting also lower the totals.
- A count that seems frozen usually means no new pickups have happened yet.
If nothing helps, restart the game so the client-side log reloads, then test with a single item pickup.
