Balancing Dungeon Rewards So Loot Isn't Overpowered

What "Balanced" Means Here

The mod does not simply dump rare or endgame gear into every chest. It selects loot from comparable vanilla loot tables, meaning a low-tier structure still gives low-tier rewards, while tougher structures can give better ones. Randomness is added on top so results vary, but the overall power level stays in line with where you are.

Keeping Your Playthrough Fair

  • Let the mod do its job before you start hand-editing loot. The default behavior is already tuned to avoid handing out top-tier items in early structures.
  • If you use other loot-altering mods, be aware they can stack with this one and push rewards higher than intended. Test a few chests and adjust the other mod if things feel too generous.
  • Use the randomness as a difficulty feature. Because rewards vary, you cannot farm one easy structure for a guaranteed powerful item, which keeps progression meaningful.
  • When you want a tougher challenge, seek out the higher-tier supported structures. Their comparable loot tables naturally yield stronger rewards, so the risk-reward curve stays sensible.
  • Avoid stacking multiple loot overhaul mods on the same structure set unless you deliberately want inflated rewards.

The design goal is diversity with restraint, so trust the defaults unless you have a specific reason to change them.
