How to Run Scheduled Maintenance Commands Automatically
Pick Your Maintenance Command
Loop Commands can run any console command on a timer, which makes it useful for routine upkeep. Common choices include clearing dropped items, saving the world, or broadcasting a warning before a restart. Decide which command you want and write it exactly as you'd type it in the console, but without the leading slash.
Add It as a Loop
Open config.yml and add a new entry under loops: with a descriptive name such as clear_items or autosave. Put your command in the command field and set a delay that matches how often you want it to run — for example a short interval for item clearing, or a longer one for saves. Each loop is independent, so you can run several maintenance tasks on different schedules at once.
Reload and Confirm
Run /LoopCommandReload to apply the new schedule. Watch the console output the next time the delay passes to confirm the command executed without errors. If a command needs a permission level the console already has, it should run fine; if it fails, check the exact command syntax against your server software's documentation. Avoid stacking many heavy commands on very short delays, since they all execute on the main thread and can cause lag if overused.
