Deciding whether to keep the mod or fix the underlying data
What the mod does and does not do
The mod is a safety net. It converts a fatal load error into a warning so the game proceeds. It does not delete, trim, or rewrite the offending NBT. That means the abnormal data stays in your save.
When keeping it is fine
If the warning appears once and the world runs normally, the mod has done its job. You can keep playing. Re-check the log occasionally to confirm the warning is not multiplying.
When you should fix the data
Treat it as a problem to solve if you see any of these:
- The warning repeats every load or every time you enter a region.
- The world stutters or the save grows noticeably.
- New warnings appear after you place or use a particular block.
In those cases, isolate the source. Remove the offending block entity or entity, or update/remove the mod that wrote the bad tag. Then reload and confirm the warning is gone.
Order of operations
Always back up before editing NBT. Fix the data first, then decide whether you still need the mod installed. Keeping it as insurance is reasonable, but it should not be a substitute for clean save data.
