Choosing Colors for Your Build Using Lithos

Understanding Color Consistency

Lithos maintains the same color palette and brightness levels as default Minecraft textures, making it ideal for planning builds. When you place a block in Lithos, it will appear the same shade relative to other blocks as it does in default textures.

Planning Your Color Scheme

1. Identify your primary blocks — Choose 2-3 main construction materials (stone variants, wood types, concrete, etc.)

2. Test adjacency — Place blocks next to each other in a test area to see how colors interact

3. Use complementary materials — Pair lighter blocks with darker ones for contrast. For example, combine light stone with dark wood or vice versa

4. Reference real-world materials — Lithos textures are designed to resemble actual materials, so think about how real stone, wood, and metal work together

5. Build a small section first — Create a 5×5 wall sample before committing to a full structure

Maintaining Visual Balance

Because Lithos preserves default brightness values, your color schemes will translate seamlessly if you ever switch between resource packs. This makes it safe to plan ambitious builds knowing your palette will remain consistent.
