Transition from Stone Tools to Better Equipment

Know When to Upgrade

Stone tools are excellent for early and mid-game survival, but eventually you'll want to progress to iron, diamond, or other advanced materials. Use stone tools until you've gathered enough iron ore to smelt and craft iron equipment, or until you've reached the depths where better materials become worthwhile.

Use Stone Tools Strategically

Even after unlocking better tools, keep stone tools around for specific purposes. They're lightweight, renewable, and useful for tasks where durability doesn't matter as much. Use them for gathering wood, clearing terrain, or mining stone itself—save your iron and diamond tools for ore and combat.

Recycle and Repurpose

As you find better materials, your old stone tool sets become obsolete. Rather than leaving them behind, break them down or store them. Some players keep a full set of each stone type as a trophy or reference collection showing their progression through the mod.
