Create a Poolroom Area
Building the Pool Structure
Poolrooms are iconic Backrooms locations. Start by creating a large rectangular basin using
Dark Prismarine blocks for the floor and walls. This gives the clean, institutional tile appearance characteristic of these areas. The prismarine's subtle pattern mimics real pool tiling without being distracting.
Walls and Lighting Setup
Surround your pool with light-colored walls using
Yellow Concrete or Smooth Sandstone to keep the space bright and clinical. Install
Sea Lantern blocks in the ceiling to flood the room with harsh, even fluorescent lighting. This creates the sterile, uncomfortable atmosphere poolrooms are known for.
Finishing Details
Use
Polished Diorite or Stripped Birch Wood for ceiling tiles to complete the institutional look. Consider adding a narrow walkway around the pool's edge using
Dark Oak Planks or more prismarine to define the space.
For added realism, leave the pool empty or fill it with water to create an eerie, abandoned feeling. The combination of bright lights, clean tiles, and empty space creates the unsettling poolroom aesthetic.
