Create and Manage Particle Effects at Scale
High-Performance Particle System
LibrarianLib includes a particle engine optimized to render thousands of particles simultaneously without lag.
Spawning Particles
1. Access the particle system through LibrarianLib's particle manager
2. Define particle behavior by setting velocity, lifetime, color, and size properties
3. Spawn particles in batches rather than one at a time for better performance
4. Use the system on the client side where rendering occurs
Customization
Particles can follow custom trajectories, fade over time, and change color. You can create particle emitters that continuously spawn particles from a location, useful for effects like fire, smoke, or magical auras.
Performance Considerations
Even with thousands of particles, the system remains efficient. However, avoid spawning particles every tick in a tight loop on the server—spawn them on the client or use a particle manager that batches updates. Test your effect with many particles active to ensure frame rates remain acceptable.
