Configure Gamepad Input
Legacy4J fully supports gamepad input across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam controllers. To set up your gamepad:
1. Connect your gamepad to your computer before launching Minecraft
2. Open the mod's settings menu from the main screen
3. Navigate to Controls or Gamepad Settings
4. Your gamepad should be automatically detected
5. Test button mappings to ensure they match your controller type
Customize Button Layout
If you need to rebind specific buttons:
1. Go to Controls → Gamepad Bindings
2. Select the action you want to rebind (e.g., jump, place block, open inventory)
3. Press the button on your gamepad you'd like to assign
4. Confirm the binding
The mod displays controller-specific icons (PlayStation symbols, Xbox buttons, or Steam icons) in menus and tooltips, so you'll always know which button to press. If your gamepad isn't recognized, ensure it's connected before starting the game and check that your system drivers are up to date.
