Triggering the Forbidden Mirror

The Forbidden Mirror is a craftable item that manually begins the monster invasion. Once used, it unleashes the Asen parasites into your world as a single-use item.

After activation, monitor your world's hatred level—it increases by approximately one point each day, making enemies progressively harder. Small bugs will spawn and grow into fast, deadly adults capable of leaping, dashing, and flying when injured.

Your priority is eliminating bugs before they mature and infect nearby mobs. Infected creatures become twisted versions covered in red sludge and can spread the infection to others. Defeated enemies explode and drop pods that hatch into more bugs, accelerating the invasion. In late stages, the ground transforms into dark, living decay as specialized endgame monsters emerge to aid the swarm's conquest.
