Finding and Breeding Endangered Species

Locating Animals by Biome

Koopa's Critters Mod distributes animals across specific biomes matching their real-world habitats. Check your current biome type and look for the corresponding creatures—servals and cheetahs spawn in savannas, penguins in cold biomes, and desert species like chuckwallas in arid regions. Use the mod's animal list to identify which biome you need to visit.

Breeding Mechanics

Once you've found a pair of the same species, you'll need to encourage breeding. Most animals in the mod can be bred using appropriate food items—typically seeds, vegetation, or meat depending on the species' diet. Feed both animals until hearts appear, indicating they're ready to breed. A baby will spawn shortly after.

Breeding is useful for:

  • Building populations for observation
  • Creating sustainable habitats
  • Learning animal behavior patterns

Conservation Tips

Since these are endangered species, consider creating dedicated enclosures or reserves in your world. This prevents accidental despawning and lets you observe natural behaviors. Keep pairs together and maintain adequate space to encourage natural breeding cycles.
