Set Up Your Companion's Home Base

Establishing a Home Location

Setting a home base allows your companion to patrol, defend, and socialize when not adventuring with you.

1. Choose a location near your main base or settlement

2. Open the companion menu

3. Select the home/base option and confirm the location

4. Your companion will return here when dismissed or when you're far away

What Happens at Home

Once a home is set, your companion will:

• Patrol the surrounding area for hostile mobs
• Place torches in dark spots to prevent mob spawning
• Socialize and chat around campfires if other companions are nearby

Multiple Companions

If you have multiple companions with homes in the same area, they'll interact with each other, creating a small settlement feel. This also provides passive defense for your base while you're exploring elsewhere.

You can change a companion's home location anytime through the menu, allowing flexibility as your base expands.
