Find and Tame Your First Companion

Locating a Wild Companion

Wild companions spawn naturally in and around villages. Search village centers and nearby forests or plains during the day—they appear as humanoid mobs similar to villagers but distinct in appearance.

Taming Process

1. Approach the wild companion peacefully (don't attack)

2. Open your inventory and locate an emerald

3. Right-click the companion with the emerald in hand

4. The companion will be tamed and follow you

You'll receive 10 emeralds when first loading into a world, giving you enough to tame your first ally. Once tamed, your companion joins your party and begins following you on your adventures. They won't wander far unless you set them to guard a location or send them on an excursion.

Next Steps

After taming, open the companion menu to equip them with basic armor and a weapon. Focus on getting them to level 10 so they can choose their class—this unlocks their unique abilities and role specialization.
