Taking Breaks From the Distortion and Switching Shaders Off Quickly

The pack's heavy visual noise, chromatic aberration and screen tear are intense. Sometimes you need a clear view, whether for building something precise, reading signs or just resting your eyes.

Turning the pack off

1. Press Esc and open Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs.

2. Select Off (or None, depending on your loader) and click Done.

3. Your world returns to normal graphics without leaving the game.

To bring the corruption back, return to the same menu and select White Noise Shaders again.

Some shader loaders also offer a keybind to toggle shaders on and off. Check Options → Controls → Key Binds to see whether yours has one.

Playing comfortably

  • Take regular breaks. Flickering static and screen tear can tire your eyes faster than normal gameplay.
  • Stop if you feel unwell. If you're sensitive to flashing or flickering visuals, keep sessions short or switch the pack off at the first sign of discomfort.
  • Build first, curse later. Lay out detailed builds with shaders off, then switch the pack back on to view your work in its corrupted form.
  • Check the pack's settings screen to see what options it offers if you want a different look from the cursed preset.

You can switch between clean and corrupted views as often as you like, which makes the pack easy to use for short sessions.
