Keep Framerates Smooth on a Low-End PC with Vix Shaders

This pack is built for fast performance and runs well on lower-end hardware. Your regular video settings still decide most of your framerate, though. If you get stutters while building or exploring, adjust the vanilla options first.

Measure before you change anything

1. Press F3 in a busy spot, such as a village or a dense forest, and note your FPS.

2. Turn the shader pack off in the shader menu and check FPS again in the same spot.

3. If the gap is small, the pack isn't your bottleneck. Look at your world settings instead.

Settings that help the most

In Options > Video Settings, work through these one at a time:

  • Render Distance: lower it a few chunks at a time. This usually gives the biggest gain.
  • Simulation Distance: reduce it if your CPU struggles, especially in large builds.
  • Clouds: set to Fast or Off.
  • Particles: set to Decreased or Minimal.
  • Max Framerate / VSync: cap your framerate at your monitor's refresh rate to reduce heat and frame spikes.
  • Graphics: Fast is lighter than Fancy.

After each change, revisit your test spot and recheck F3. Stop once your FPS feels steady.

If the shader menu shows a settings button for this pack, look for anything labelled as quality or detail and lower it. Only change options you can identify, and reapply the pack afterwards.
