Adjust Brightness and Visibility for Caves, Nights and Every Biome

Vix Enchanced Vibrant Shaders brightens the world with clean, colorful lighting and is meant to keep vanilla gameplay easy to see in all conditions. If a scene looks too bright, too dark or washed out on your screen, here's how to tune it.

Use the vanilla brightness slider first

1. Open Options > Video Settings and find Brightness.

2.

3. Move the slider and check how well you can see ore, mobs and dropped items.

4. Return to daylight and make sure the surface doesn't look blown out. Settle on a value that works for both.

Your monitor's own brightness and contrast also play a big part. If colors look harsh, adjust them on the monitor before blaming the pack.

Check the pack's own settings

1. Open the shader menu: Shader Packs in Iris or Shaders in OptiFine.

2. With the pack selected, look for a Shader Pack Settings or Shader Options button.

3. If the pack offers lighting or color options, change one at a time and apply to see the effect.

Test across biomes

The pack adds colorful scenery to every biome, so check a few different ones, such as a desert, snowy area, jungle or swamp, before deciding on final settings. A setup that looks good in plains might feel too bright on snow.
