Vix Enchanced Vibrant Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on Vix Enchanced Vibrant Shaders?
It is a shader pack, so it needs a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. Open Options, then Video Settings, then Shader Packs, select Vix Enchanced Vibrant Shaders from the list and click Apply or Done.
Why doesn't Vix Shaders show up in my shader pack list?
The pack file must sit directly inside the shaderpacks folder of the game instance you are launching, not inside a subfolder. Leave the zip file as it is instead of extracting it, and check that Iris or OptiFine is actually loaded, because the Shader Packs button only appears when one of them is running.
Do I need to put this on my server too?
No. Shaders run entirely on your own client, so you can use Vix on any multiplayer server without the server or other players installing anything. Other players will not see your shaders.
Will Vix Shaders lag my low-end PC?
The pack is built for fast performance and is meant to run smoothly on lower-end hardware without major lag spikes. If your FPS still drops, lower your render distance and close background programs first, since those usually cost more than the shader itself.
Does Vix work with Sodium?
Yes, through Iris. Iris is designed to run alongside Sodium, so you get Sodium's performance boost together with Vix's lighting. OptiFine is a separate loader and should not be installed together with Sodium or Iris.
Can I still see in caves and at night with Vix Shaders?
The pack is designed to keep vanilla gameplay clear and easy to see in all conditions, so caves and nights stay readable. If they still feel too dark, raise the in-game Brightness slider or use torches as you normally would.
Does Vix change how my world or blocks actually work?
No. It only changes how lighting and colors are drawn on your screen. Your world, blocks, mobs and gameplay stay completely vanilla, and switching the shader off returns the normal look instantly.
How do I quickly turn Vix Shaders off without uninstalling?
Go back to Video Settings, then Shader Packs, and choose the off or none option. Iris also has a keybind for toggling shaders, which you can find and change under Controls.
My screen went black or looks broken after enabling Vix, what do I do?
Disable the shader from the Shader Packs menu, then update your graphics drivers and make sure your shader loader matches your Minecraft version. Also check that no other shader-related or rendering mods are conflicting, and remove any extracted copies of the pack from the shaderpacks folder.
Does Vix look different in each biome?
Yes. The pack brightens vanilla landscapes with clean, colorful lighting, so each biome keeps its own color palette but looks more vibrant than plain vanilla.
