Optimize Vivid Radiant Lighting for Your Hardware

Check Your Current Performance

Before adjusting settings, launch your world and observe your frame rate. Open the shader options menu (usually accessed via the pause menu or a dedicated shader settings button) and note which features are enabled.

Reduce Visual Features for Lower-End PCs

If you're experiencing frame drops, disable or lower these settings in order:

1. PBR Reflections — Turn off reflections on water and block surfaces first. This has the biggest performance impact while maintaining the core lighting improvements.

2. Shadow Quality — Lower shadow resolution or disable dynamic shadows if available.

3. Ambient Occlusion — Reduce or disable subtle darkening in crevices.

4. Render Distance — Lower your chunk render distance in video settings.

Verify Smooth Performance

After each change, spend 2-3 minutes exploring different biomes and lighting conditions. Watch for consistent frame rates during movement and when looking at complex terrain.

Balance Quality and Speed

Vivid Radiant Lighting is designed to run on budget setups, so you shouldn't need extreme reductions. If performance is still poor after disabling reflections, check that other resource packs or mods aren't conflicting.
