Light Your Base with Warm Torch and Lantern Glow

Trial Shaders adjusts indoor light levels so torches and lanterns cast warm, natural light. Some careful placement turns a plain room into a cosy one.

Plan your lighting

1. Spread your light sources out. Several torches or lanterns spaced around a room give even, warm coverage. One bright spot leaves dark corners.

2. Use lanterns for focal points. Hang them from ceilings or place them on tables and counters to draw the eye.

3. Use torches for walls and corridors. Wall-mounted torches along hallways give a steady warm glow as you walk through.

4. Think about shadows. The pack adds soft block shading, so pillars, beams and furniture will shape the light. Place lights where they show off those details.

Balance indoors and outdoors

  • Leave windows open to the sky. Daylight coming in contrasts nicely with warm interior light, especially at sunset.
  • Check your build at night. That is when torches and lanterns stand out most against the darker outdoors.
  • Walk the space and adjust. If an area looks too dark, add another source. If it looks flat, move lights closer to walls or ceilings to create more shading.

Remember that vanilla mob-spawning rules still apply. Keep your base lit well enough to stay safe, even if a dimmer look feels moodier.
