Get the Highest Frame Rate on a Low-End PC with ThaiGlowLite
ThaiGlowLite is built to run smoothly on low-end systems and potato computers. Your vanilla video settings still have a big effect on frame rate, though. Tuning them alongside the pack keeps the fantasy lighting while squeezing out every frame.
Trim the Vanilla Settings First
Open Options > Video Settings and adjust these, testing in a busy area like a village or forest:
- Render Distance: This has the biggest impact on performance. Lower it until movement feels smooth.
- Simulation Distance: Lowering it reduces load in singleplayer.
- Clouds: Set to Fast or Off.
- Particles: Set to Decreased or Minimal.
- Entity Shadows: Turn off.
- Biome Blend: Lower or turn off.
- VSync: Turn off if you want the highest possible frame rate. Leave it on if you see screen tearing.
- Max Framerate: Set it at or slightly above your monitor's refresh rate.
Check the Shader Options Screen
With ThaiGlowLite active, go to the Shader Packs screen and open the pack's settings or shader options, if your loader shows them. If you see any quality-related sliders there, lower them one step at a time. Check your frame rate with F3 after each change.
If frame rate is still poor, turn shaders off briefly and compare. A very large gap points to your vanilla settings or hardware. A small gap means ThaiGlowLite isn't what's holding you back.
