Enhance Water Appearance and Reflections
Locate Water Settings
Open shader options and find the Water or Liquid section. This controls how water surfaces render throughout your world.
Adjust Water Clarity and Color
Look for sliders controlling:
- Water Transparency: Determines how far you can see underwater. Increase for crystal-clear tropical waters; decrease for murky swamps and deep oceans.
- Water Color Tint: Allows you to shift water hue to match biome atmosphere—cooler blues for cold biomes, warmer tones for warm ones.
- Wave Intensity: Controls the subtle wave animation on water surfaces. Higher values create more visible movement; lower values keep water calmer.
Enable Reflections
If available, toggle Water Reflections or Surface Reflections to render sky and environment reflections on water surfaces. This dramatically improves realism but may impact performance.
Test Different Biomes
Visit oceans, rivers, and swamps to see how your settings affect each water type. Adjust transparency and color separately if your shader supports per-biome customization, ensuring water looks appropriate everywhere.
