Adjust Shadow Intensity and Quality for Your System
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls settings or video options). Look for the Sursum Corda Renewed profile and select Shader Options or Settings.
Configure Shadow Parameters
Locate the shadow-related sliders, typically labeled as:
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your character. Lower values improve performance on weaker systems; higher values extend shadows across your entire view.
- Shadow Quality/Resolution: Adjusts shadow map detail. Reduce this if you experience frame drops, especially under dense tree canopies.
- Shadow Softness: Controls the blur and feathering of shadow edges. Increase for softer, more realistic shadows; decrease for sharper, performance-friendly shadows.
Test and Optimize
After adjusting each setting, walk through different environments—forests, caves, and open areas—to see how shadows behave. Pay attention to frame rate changes. If performance drops significantly, reduce shadow distance or quality incrementally until you find a balance between visuals and smooth gameplay.
Save Your Configuration
Once satisfied, your settings save automatically. If you switch shader packs and return, your preferences will load again.
