Make Water Clearer to See Underwater
Adjust Water Transparency
Sublime Visuals improves water clarity by default, but you can enhance it further. Open your shader settings from the video options menu and locate water-related parameters.
Fine-Tune Water Settings
Look for options like:
- Water fog distance — Increase this value to see further underwater before the water becomes murky
- Water transparency — Boost transparency to reduce the blue/green tint and see the ocean floor more clearly
- Caustic effects — These light patterns on the water surface can be adjusted or disabled if they obscure your view
Test Your Changes
After adjusting settings, visit a deep ocean or river and look down. You should be able to see the bottom more clearly than before. If the water looks too transparent and unrealistic, dial back the settings slightly. Remember that water clarity also depends on your render distance—increasing render distance lets you see further underwater.
