Stabilize Motion and Reduce Camera Jitter
Why Motion Matters in Artistic Shaders
Storybook shaders use outlines and painted effects that can shimmer or crawl across surfaces during camera movement. Stability settings prevent this visual noise, keeping the hand-drawn look clean even when you turn quickly or sprint.
Enabling Motion Stability
In your shader options, look for Temporal Stability, Motion Stability, TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing), or Frame Blending. Enable these features to smooth out flickering outlines and jittering light bands.
If motion blur or ghosting appears after enabling stability, adjust the Stability Strength or Blend Amount slider—lower values reduce ghosting while keeping most benefits. Some shaders offer Fast Camera Mode, which optimizes stability for rapid head turns.
Testing Movement
Fly or sprint through your world while looking around quickly. Watch block outlines and light transitions—they should feel smooth and painted rather than shimmering. If you still see crawling artifacts, try enabling Depth-Based Stability or Geometry Awareness if available. These help the shader understand depth, reducing motion artifacts on distant terrain.
