Maintain Depth Clarity in Complex Terrain
Reading Depth in Storybook Style
With outlines and painted light, complex landscapes can become visually dense. Depth clarity settings ensure you can still distinguish foreground blocks, structures, and distant mountains without confusion.
Depth Enhancement Options
Open shader settings and find Depth of Field, Fog Distance, or Atmospheric Perspective. These control how quickly distant terrain fades or blurs. Increasing fog distance makes far terrain sharper but can reduce the storybook atmosphere; decreasing it adds mystery but may hide important landmarks.
Look for Contrast or Clarity sliders—boosting these makes block edges pop and structures stand out. You can also adjust Outline Depth Bias, which makes outlines stronger on nearby blocks and weaker in distance, naturally guiding your eye to what matters.
Biome-Specific Clarity
Different biomes may need different settings. Dense forests benefit from stronger outlines and shorter fog distance. Open plains work well with softer outlines and longer visibility. If your shader allows per-biome tweaks, experiment with these to keep depth readable across varied terrain while preserving the warm, illustrated mood.
