Enhance Light Bands and Painted Illumination
Understanding Painted Light Bands
Storybook shaders paint soft, colorful light bands across terrain to create warm, illustrated lighting. These bands follow the sun and moon position, giving your world a painted-book aesthetic.
Adjusting Light Quality
Access your shader settings and search for Light Band Intensity, Shadow Softness, or Lighting Saturation. Increasing intensity makes colored light more visible and vibrant. Adjusting softness controls how gradually light transitions across surfaces—softer transitions feel more painted, while sharper transitions feel more geometric.
You can also modify Color Saturation to make the warm storybook palette more or less pronounced. Higher saturation deepens the illustrated feeling; lower saturation creates a more naturalistic look while keeping outlines.
Time of Day Effects
Light bands change throughout the day cycle. Visit your world at different times—sunrise, noon, sunset, night—to see how the shader interprets lighting. If certain times feel too dark or washed out, adjust exposure or brightness settings to compensate while preserving the storybook mood.
