How to Turn On Simply Super Shaders with Iris or OptiFine

Simply Super Shaders is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. It is purely visual and only needs to be on your own computer. A server never needs it.

Put the pack in the right folder

1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader active.

2. Open Options → Video Settings, then open the shader menu. In Iris this is Shader Packs. In OptiFine it is Shaders.

3. Click the button that opens the shader pack folder. This opens the shaderpacks folder inside your game directory.

4. Drop the Simply Super Shaders file into that folder. Leave it zipped if it arrived as a zip.

Select and confirm it

1. Return to the shader menu. The pack should now appear in the list.

2. Click it, then click Apply or Done.

3. Load a world in daylight and check for these signs that it is working:

  • Warm, bright sunlight across the landscape.
  • Soft shadows instead of hard vanilla lighting.
  • Clear, clean-looking skies.
  • Smoother, cleaner water surfaces.

If the world looks exactly like vanilla, go back to the shader menu. Make sure the pack is highlighted and shaders are not set to "Off" or "Internal."

The pack keeps the original block look, so your textures will appear unchanged. Only the lighting, water and sky should be different.
