Fixing Low FPS or a Missing Effect with Simply Super Shaders
If the pack isn't showing up, looks wrong, or slows your game down, work through these checks.
The shader isn't showing
1. Make sure a shader loader, either Iris or OptiFine, is running. Without one, the shader menu won't exist at all.
2. Open Options → Video Settings and go to the shader menu. Confirm Simply Super Shaders is selected, not "Off" or "Internal."
3. Confirm the file is directly inside the shaderpacks folder, not inside an extra subfolder.
4. Remember that the pack keeps vanilla block textures unchanged. Judge it by the lighting instead: warm sunlight, soft shadows, clear skies and clean water.
The game runs slowly
Shaders put extra load on your graphics card. To recover frames:
1. Lower Render Distance in Video Settings. This usually gives the biggest gain.
2. Reduce other demanding video options, such as particles or entity distance.
3. Close background programs that use your GPU.
4. If your loader shows a settings button for the selected pack, open it. Look for quality or shadow options you can turn down. Exact options depend on the pack, so try lowering the heavier-sounding ones first.
Quick comparison
Toggle shaders off and back on in the shader menu. This lets you compare against vanilla and confirm what the pack is changing.
