Adjust Brightness and Lighting Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open your shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, though the exact path depends on your mod loader and shader mod.
Fine-Tune Brightness Levels
Look for sliders or toggles related to:
- Surface Brightness – Controls how much light illuminates block faces and terrain
- Ambient Light – Adjusts overall world brightness in shadowed areas
- Light Intensity – Modulates the strength of colored lighting effects
Start with default values and make small adjustments. Increase brightness if caves feel too dark or if you want terrain details to pop more. Decrease it if the world feels washed out or if you prefer higher contrast shadows.
Apply and Test
Save your changes and walk through different biomes and lighting conditions—caves, forests, and open sky—to see how adjustments affect visibility and atmosphere. You can tweak settings in real-time without restarting your game.
