Make Sunlight and Shadows Look More Natural
Adjust Lighting Direction and Softness
Serene Glowing Skies features soft, directional lighting that creates natural-looking sunbeams and shadow gradients. You can customize how pronounced these effects are.
Locate Lighting Settings
In shader options, find settings for "Sun Intensity," "Shadow Softness," "Sunbeam Strength," or "Light Direction." These control:
- Sun intensity: How bright direct sunlight appears
- Shadow softness: How gradual the transition from light to shadow is
- Sunbeam/god ray strength: How visible light rays appear through clouds and particles
Customizing the Look
If sunlight feels too harsh, reduce sun intensity or increase shadow softness for gentler transitions. If sunbeams are too subtle, boost their strength. For a more dramatic sky, increase both sun intensity and sunbeam strength together.
Testing Your Changes
Changes are most visible during sunrise, sunset, and when standing under trees or near clouds. Experiment in different times of day and biomes to see how adjustments affect the overall mood. The goal is natural-looking light that enhances atmosphere without washing out colors.
