Troubleshoot Flickering, Banding, or Color Issues
Identify the Problem Type
Flickering usually indicates a shadow or lighting calculation issue. Banding (visible color stripes) suggests color depth problems. Washed-out colors mean brightness is too high or saturation is too low.
Reset to Default Settings
Start by resetting your shader to factory defaults. Look for a "Reset" or "Load Defaults" button in shader settings. This eliminates custom tweaks that might conflict.
Adjust Shadow Frequency
If you see flickering shadows, reduce shadow intensity or lower shadow resolution. Rivet Lite's soft shadows should be stable—flickering indicates your hardware is struggling with the current settings.
Check Color Saturation and Gamma
For banding or washed-out visuals, locate saturation and gamma sliders. Increase saturation slightly to restore the vibrant anime colors. Adjust gamma if the world feels too bright or too dark overall.
Lower Render Distance Temporarily
Flickering can worsen at high render distances. Drop it to 8 chunks and gradually increase while monitoring for issues. This helps isolate whether the problem is shader-related or hardware-related.
Verify Driver Updates
Outdated graphics drivers sometimes cause visual glitches with shaders. Ensure your GPU drivers are current before assuming the shader is broken.
