Getting the Best Look at Colored Lighting Effects

Where Colored Lighting Appears

Colored lighting from this shader pack works best around glowing blocks and light sources. Place torches, lanterns, glowstone, or other luminous blocks in your builds, and watch how the shader casts soft colored glows onto nearby surfaces—walls, floors, and even mobs.

Positioning Light Sources for Maximum Impact

To see colored lighting at its best, build in areas with shadows and darker corners. The contrast between lit and unlit surfaces makes the glow effect more visible. Try placing colored light sources (like soul lanterns or amethyst geodes if your modpack includes them) near blocks with different textures—wood, stone, and dirt all reflect colored light differently.

Adjusting Bloom for Brighter Glows

If colored lighting feels too subtle, return to shader settings and increase the bloom intensity slider. Higher bloom makes light sources and their colored auras more prominent. Conversely, if bloom feels overwhelming, dial it back. The sweet spot depends on your preference and hardware—experiment to find what looks natural to you.
