Optimize Purpliness Shaders for Better Performance
Reducing Lag
If Purpliness causes frame rate drops, try these adjustments in order:
1. Lower render distance in your video settings—this is the most impactful change
2. Reduce graphics quality to Fast or Fancy (depending on your launcher)
3. Disable clouds in video settings
4. Turn off smooth lighting or set it to minimum
5. Close other applications running in the background
Shader-Specific Tweaks
Check if Purpliness has its own performance options:
- Open shader settings and look for toggles like "High Quality," "Shadows," or "Effects"
- Disable or lower any intensive visual features
- Some shaders let you reduce particle effects or water reflections
Hardware Considerations
Purpliness is designed to run on most systems, but very old computers may struggle. If performance remains poor:
- Consider using a simpler shader or no shader at all
- Upgrade your Java allocation (if using the launcher) to give Minecraft more memory
- Update your graphics drivers
- Check that your GPU isn't overheating, which can throttle performance
