Combine Purpliness Shaders with Other Visual Mods
Compatible Mods
Purpliness works alongside many visual enhancement mods:
- Texture packs layer well with shaders—the purple lighting will affect your custom textures
- Lighting mods that don't replace shaders can coexist
- Cosmetic mods (like custom armor or capes) won't conflict
- Performance mods like Sodium or Optifine can run together, though compatibility varies
What to Avoid
Do not run multiple shaders at once. If you have other shader packs installed:
1. Open your shader settings
2. Select None or Default to disable any other active shader
3. Then enable only Purpliness
Running two shaders simultaneously causes crashes or visual glitches. If you want to switch between Purpliness and another shader, disable one before enabling the other through the settings menu.
Testing Compatibility
When adding new mods to a world using Purpliness, load the world and check for:
- Unusual flickering or black areas
- Extreme lag spikes
- Missing textures or broken colors
If problems appear, disable Purpliness temporarily to confirm the new mod is the cause.
