Turn PKFL Visuals On (and Off) with Iris or OptiFine

PKFL Visuals is a shader pack. Minecraft can't run it alone, so you need a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. Once the loader is running, switching the pack on takes a few clicks.

Enabling the pack

1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader profile.

2. From the title screen or the pause menu, open Options → Video Settings.

3. Open the shader menu. Iris calls it Shader Packs. OptiFine calls it Shaders.

4. Find PKFL Visuals in the list. If it isn't there, click the button that opens the shaderpacks folder and check that the pack file is inside. Then go back and reopen the menu so the list refreshes.

5. Select PKFL Visuals and click Apply or Done.

6. Load a world. Lighting should look softer and more natural, with a warm, slightly fantasy tint, and blocks should still look like vanilla.

Switching back to vanilla

To compare your world with and without the pack, return to the same menu and pick the option that turns shaders off. Iris has a toggle, and OptiFine lists (internal) or OFF. Many loaders also offer a key to toggle shaders quickly. Look in Options → Controls → Key Binds for your loader's entry.

Switching back and forth shows you what the pack is changing. It also helps you decide whether to keep it on for building, exploring, or both.
