Light Your Builds for a Cozy Look Under PKFL Visuals

PKFL Visuals pairs natural-looking light with a gentle fantasy tone, and it keeps blocks clean and close to vanilla. That makes it a good fit for warm, inviting builds. The tips below only use ordinary vanilla light sources.

Place light with the shader in mind

1. Build or open a small test room. Place a few different vanilla light sources in it, such as torches, lanterns, campfires and glowstone.

2. Walk around at dusk and at night. Notice which light sources feel warmest under the pack's lighting.

3. Spread light sources out instead of clustering them. Pools of light with softer gaps between them usually feel cozier than an evenly lit room.

4. Hide some lights under carpets, behind leaves or inside walls. You get the glow without the clutter.

Check your palette

1. Because the pack keeps blocks easy to read, your block choices still matter. Check that your wood, stone and wool colours look the way you intended under its tone.

2. Turn shaders off briefly and look again. A build that looks good both ways will also look right to friends who play without shaders.

3. Take screenshots at golden hour and at night. These are often the moments the pack's atmosphere stands out most.
