Get Smoother Framerates While Using PKFL Visuals
Any shader pack asks more of your computer than plain vanilla. If the cozy lighting in PKFL Visuals feels choppy, these steps can help without removing the shader. They use standard Minecraft and loader settings.
Lower the heaviest vanilla settings first
1. Open Options → Video Settings.
2. Lower Render Distance a step at a time. This usually has the biggest effect on framerate when shaders are on.
3. Lower Simulation Distance if your game also feels slow, not only choppy to look at.
4. Turn down or disable extras such as Clouds, Entity Shadows and particles.
5. Set Max Framerate to something your screen can actually display, so your graphics card isn't wasting work.
Check the shader menu
1. Go back into the shader menu (Shader Packs in Iris, Shaders in OptiFine).
2. If the loader offers a settings button for the selected pack, open it. Look for anything labelled as a quality or performance option and lower it.
3. If no options appear, focus on the vanilla settings above instead.
Test each change in a familiar area, such as your base, so you can compare fairly. Busy areas like forests, villages or big builds usually show the slowdown most clearly.
