Keep Your Frame Rate Smooth While Using OZZA Shaders

OZZA Shaders is designed to keep frame rates stable, so it should run without heavy lag on most setups. If your game still stutters, you can usually fix it with vanilla and loader settings.

Find the Cause First

1. Press F3 to open the debug screen and check your FPS in the top-left corner.

2. Open Video Settings > Shader Packs and switch shaders off.

3. Return to the same spot and check your FPS again.

4. If the frame rate barely changes, the shader is not the problem. Look at other mods, large builds nearby, or many entities in the area.

Settings to Lower If You Need More FPS

Turn shaders back on and change these vanilla video settings one at a time. Check your FPS after each change:

  • Render Distance. Lowering this usually gives the biggest gain.
  • Simulation Distance. Fewer active chunks means less work for your computer.
  • Max Framerate and VSync. These cap your FPS. Adjust them if your frame rate is jumping around.
  • Entity Shadows and Particles. Lower or turn off extra visual effects.
  • GUI Scale and fullscreen mode. Playing in fullscreen can run more smoothly than a window.

If you use Iris or OptiFine, the shader menu may also let you change settings for the pack. Lower any quality options it shows one at a time until the game runs the way you want.

You can also close background programs such as browsers or video streams. These compete with Minecraft for your computer's resources.
