Improve Frame Rate on Low-End Hardware

Understand the Performance Benefit

NoShadow Shaders skips the heavy shadow rendering calculations that most shader packs perform. This means your graphics card and CPU do significantly less work each frame, freeing up resources for smoother gameplay.

Expect Better Performance

If you're playing on budget hardware or an older computer, enabling this shader should improve your frame rate compared to vanilla Minecraft with other shader packs enabled. You'll notice:

  • Smoother movement and less stuttering
  • Faster chunk loading
  • More stable FPS in complex terrain

Limitations

This shader won't magically fix a computer that can't run Minecraft at all. If you're already getting low FPS in vanilla survival, this shader will help but won't solve fundamental hardware limitations. Conversely, if your computer runs vanilla smoothly, you may not notice a dramatic FPS boost—the benefit is most visible on systems that struggle with demanding graphics.

If you want even better performance, reduce render distance and lower other video settings alongside using this shader.
