Enable NoShadow Shaders and Verify It's Working
Activate the Shader Pack
Once installed, open Minecraft and go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders. You should see NoShadow Shaders listed among your available packs. Click it to select it, then confirm. The shader will load on your next world load or when you rejoin your current world.
Check That Shadows Are Removed
Load into a world and look around. You should notice:
- Caves and underground areas are much brighter without dark shadow bands across blocks
- Nighttime is clearer and easier to navigate
- Overhangs and dense foliage no longer cast harsh shadows on the ground
- Your frame rate should feel smoother than before
If you still see heavy shadows, make sure the shader is actually selected in Video Settings. If performance drops instead of improving, your computer may need the shader disabled—this pack is designed for low-end hardware, but extremely old systems might still struggle.
You can toggle the shader off anytime by returning to Video Settings and selecting "None" under Shaders.
